Pickups are usable power-ups that can be acquired from Pickup Orbs. Pickups will very often help to outwit, gain an advantage over, or otherwise beat opponents.

There are currently eight Pickups in the game.

List of Pickups[]

GoldenHook
  • Golden Hook: Causes you to launch a Golden Hook that will attempt to grab an opponent in front, and pull them towards you whilst also placing you forward, i.e. you and the victim switch places. The Golden Hook can be dodged by sliding under it if you are the target. It can also be avoided with Crates, Shockwaves, or natural obstacles. If the player using the Golden Hook is stunned, the Hook attempt is cancelled. Additionally, the hook can also be used when you are facing the wrong way, potentially leading to your own elimination.
HomingRocket
  • Homing Missile: Causes you to fire a rocket in the air, which will go chase and home in on an opponent. It explodes when it contacts a player or surface, stunning any players caught in the explosion and destroying nearby Crates. Its high speed makes it a nuisance but its slow turning speed can be exploited using quick turns and narrow paths. Rockets can also be blocked with Crates or Shockwaves.
Boxes
  • Crates: A single or trio of Crates that can be dropped at any time, one by one, including while running or jumping. They can also be dropped down mid-air, possibly hitting players while still falling. It functions the same way as natural Crates, slowing down and stunning players (including yourself) who come in contact with them. The Crates don't have the color red and also use only a single texture, unlike most natural ones. They can also be placed in between some small gaps, which could sometimes make them an unavoidable trap. However, like all Crates they can be destroyed using a variety of other Pickups.
Bomb
DetonateBomb
  • Time Bomb: This Pickup has two modes. The first causes you to place down the stationary Time Bomb, and updates your current Pickup to a Button. The second allows you to detonate the Time Bomb manually. It can be used to push opponents away, however it can't stun; it can also be used to merely give yourself a boost forward. It also destroys nearby Crates, and even triggers nearby Switches.
Drill
  • InvinciDrill: A rare Pickup that causes a blue drill to engulf you, granting a speed boost and invulnerability. Any Crates you go through during the effect are destroyed as well. However, you will still have to move on your own.
ShockWave
  • Shockwave: Causes you to create a round blue force field, pushing opponents caught in the radius away from the center. This can either push opponents back, or forward. The Shockwave also destroys any Crates, Golden Hooks, and Homing Missiles it contacts; it also deflects Fireballs to the other direction. The Shockwave's pushing effect can be avoided by Boosting through it.
FreezeRay
  • Freeze ray: Causes you to fire a blue beam in a straight line in the direction you are facing, which lasts a few seconds. The beam will not change direction even if you look the other way afterwards. Any opponents touched by the beam are frozen into blocks of ice, pausing their animations, and causing them to slowly slide across the ground. When frozen, the victim cannot take any kind of action, including even changing their direction. Frozen victims are freed from the ice after a few seconds, but also by being stunned, such as by Spikes, Fireballs, or Homing Missiles, but not Crates.
MagmaBall
  • Fireball: Causes you to launch a rolling boulder in the direction you're facing. The ball rolls along the ground, going up or down ramps and stairs, and destroys any Crates in its way. When it hits an opponent, it stuns them as well as flinging them upwards. The Fireball can only be destroyed if it hits a wall; it can also be deflected with the Shockwave.

Scrapped Pickups[]

The Pickups below were planned to be added, but were scrapped during development.

  • Triple Jump: This would have given you a third jump. This was removed because it was annoying to get, and wouldn't have been useful in most cases.
  • Blackout: This would have blackened the screen for a few seconds. This was removed because it confused newer players.
  • Rubber Band: This would have been a Pickup that tied players together. This item was removed because it did not have the intended effect of enabling more team-focused gameplay.
  • Rideable Pig: This was not really added, but instead ridiculously thought up of by the two developers Tom and Casper. It didn't even make sense gameplay-wise whatsoever.
